Lifestyle
You'll definitely want to consider your lifestyle when designing a custom home. Think about ways that you use your current home and what you would want to change. If you are the type of person that frequently entertains guests, you may want more of an open floor plan so that you can be in the kitchen and still interact with others. If you work from home, you may want to have a home office space that is separated from the main living areas.
Flow
It's easy to make mistakes when designing a home when you do not think about the flow of how people move around in the home. Think about the space you want to walk into when you first enter the home.
